Summer Camp in Spain is a specially designed program designed to promote cultural exchange among a group of international students.
Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment for students where people from different countries and cultural backgrounds come together to share their cultures and interests.
This dynamic, diverse group setting fosters an environment of mutual support and camaraderie-students learn together and teach each other as they explore new and exciting challenges.
All activities, field trips, and foreign language instruction contribute to a comprehensive educational experience that combines art, culture, sports, and leisure.
The historic town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is nestled in the heart of the Guadarrama mountain range, about thirty miles from Madrid. This town is known for its cultural and historical significance, as well as its rigorous academics. Professors from some of the most prestigious universities in the world travel here to give lectures at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid Summer Courses. The town has a population of about 50,000 and is located three thousand feet above sea level. It is a haven for “madrileños” who seek to enjoy the cool temperatures and fresh air far from the summer heat in the city of Madrid.
The Monastery of El Escorial, an architectural gem and UNESCO World Heritage Site, was commissioned by the Emperor Philip II in the 16th century. It is known internationally as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.

Students will receive 15 hours of Spanish language instruction each week. Classes are taught by experienced, native teachers Monday through Friday.
Following a language placement test, students will be grouped into classes of 10-12 students. Upon completion of the program, every student will receive a progress report and diploma.
Students will live, eat, and study at the Real Colegio Alfonso XII, one of the most prestigious boarding schools in Spain.
The school first opened in 1587, but the facilities are equipped with modern technology for use in the dormitories, classrooms, audiovisual rooms, and royally decorated theater.
Students live in the same building that holds the Royal Palace, Pantheon of Kings, Royal Library, Basilica, priceless art and artifacts, and more.
El Bosquecillo, the sports complex of the Real Colegio Alfonso XII, is perfect for a variety of sports such as swimming, tennis, basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
Students also take Magic Classes from professional magicians and fencing lessons from members of the Spanish National Fencing Team. The exchange of customs and cultural traditions through classes and activities is an integral aspect of the program.
